World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

Item upgrade allows players to increase the level of armor and weapons that can be equipped. This increases the stats of that equipment, and also sometimes adding buffs or the rerolling of an affix.

It is crucial to remember that upgrading common gear is not always worth it. Rare and exclusive equipment will soon surpass the standard equipment and upgraded magic.

Cost

The player must pay gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item depends on the item's current status and the type of upgrade. For instance, upgrading a weapon will typically be cheaper than upgrading armor because weapons have lower requirements for level. The amount of Gold required increases as the item is upgraded to an upper level.

A new item will also have improved stats, which could boost its performance in a variety of ways. This could mean increasing the power of its attack and critical strike chance or damage per second. Additionally an upgraded item could be able to give additional buffs to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to be used to boost a variety of purposes such as to increase the overall strength of a group or individual unit. They can also affect the overall the gameplay.

Items can be upgraded by any item upgrader NPC in the game. These NPCs can be found in major questing areas or capital cities. Players can also locate item upgraders by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses, and by talking to the NPCs in their garrisons of their faction.

The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players upgrade the level of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. This process is largely identical to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the currency that is appropriate players need to visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly for armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade path each step up in item level can cost several Valorstones or crests. The total costs can be very prohibitive for players who do not have the resources or aren't willing to grind them.

Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item which has been upgraded. The new item has a distinct set of bonuses, and is of a lower item level. The rerolled item is also likely to have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to know that the rerolled item will not be able to maintain its strength or have any of its wasted resources.

Rerolling upgraded items is only possible if the item was upgraded was Epic, Rare or Unique. Additionally, exceptional items can be rerolled but the original stats are replaced with an uncapped bonus. This means that rerolling an item that is Rare item will result in a normal version of the same type, while the rerolling of an Epic item will result in an Elite version of the same kind.

An upgraded item might have extra modifiers, which could further boost its stats and enhance its performance. These additional modifiers do not come with the upgrade cost. To upgrade an item of equipment, you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. Depending on the type of item, you will require one or more Power Dices (Dice 6 is droppable from monsters 21+ and Giants and Dice 12 can be obtained from Bosses). You will also require different amounts of Minerals, Erons and Giants.

Some upgrade components have additional cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are available through crafting, purchasing from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. Additionally players can retrieve upgraded items using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them with a salvage kit. Glyphs that are placed in tools for gathering can be swapped out without restrictions.

A player can turn an item into another upgradeable item by selecting it and pressing the green button an arrow for reroll. This alters the layout of the item's window and allow players to choose up to six items to "recycle". The item that is recycled will be exchanged with a level 1 item of the same kind. Recycled items won't keep their level, or the resources used to upgrade them.

The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item's level and its quality. Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels of nine, whereas common items are only upgraded up to level six. The upgrades to an item are added to the base statistics of the item upgrader kit which means that they won't increase after a certain amount.
