Robot vacuums and mops are increasingly efficient, passing our tests of cleaning robot mop and vacuum and tackling different types of floors. Find models that allow you to choose between several modes, utilize their charging docks to automatically empty and clean up the stairs.

Many of the top models are compatible with smartphones. Check for an app that lets you save maps, set schedules and select cleaning options.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive robot vacuums and mop combinations available. It uses lidar for navigation and creates maps of rooms and floors.

When I tested the S1, it was quick to identify our downstairs, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, plus carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was capable of driving up to walls and even cross raised thresholds without any problems. However it had some issues navigating down the stairs in one pass. The S1 also did an excellent job of cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on its flat side against the floor and lifting itself when it reached carpet or rug.

The docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and replenishes its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. The dock also adds a cleaning solution to the water for deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can be able to accommodate 12 cleaning sessions, but it will differ based on how often you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires regular maintenance to keep it working well. In order to do this, you'll have to clean the dirty water tank regularly to prevent it from clogging. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to prevent them from becoming clogged with dirt or dust. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-1 robot mop and vacuum from Ecovacs is a great choice for cleaning requirements. Its robot vacuum has 8700Pa of suction power and comes with a variety of innovative features including voice control and smart path scheduling that cleans furniture and avoids obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it instead of just dragging a pad across the surface. The mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station if needed.

This robot combination is simple to install and use, and has a clear interface that walks you through the process. It comes with an electric hand vacuum that can be recharged to reach those areas the robot isn't able to reach and two water tanks that are automatically emptied and replenished whenever required. It also has a range of settings that can be used to fine tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does well at vacuuming, with a strong suction that easily removes most of the debris, and even smaller pieces of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty solid as well, though it is sometimes hung up on the tiny area mats or rugs that I have in my house (which is something you can reduce by creating a virtual boundary in the app). Its mopping capabilities are also quite good, with a pair spinning mop heads that are able to lift and scrub floors instead of simply dragging the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned with hot water and dried in the base station whenever needed. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station when required.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new flagship robot hoover mop and vacuum comes with more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-free maintenance making it a top contender for our best robot auto vacuum and mop and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush ensure an efficient, customized clean.

The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It also cleaned our test's most filthy areas well, and eliminating pet hairs that are tangled and other mess. The sweeping power of the machine is enhanced by a sidebrush that automatically swings out in order to reach areas that are difficult to reach, and mop pads that extend along baseboards.

Its navigation system is intelligent it can navigate tight spaces and negotiating stairs without skipping a beat. It can go from one room to another without having to change direction. This is beneficial for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than the ones of other competitors and leaves a large space over obstacles. This can lead to missing spots.

The interface of the app is simple and streamlined. It should be easy to use for both novices and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and control cleanings. You can also alter suction power, mop settings and look up 3-D and 2-D maps. It can be controlled through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri which allows you to keep an eye on its progress from any location. You can also use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely, for live video surveillance. You'll require a stable WiFi connection to run the app and external controls.

4. Roomba Q5 Pro

Robot vacuums are great in removing dirt and debris, but they're not able to get every bit of dust. This is why it's crucial to make use of your regular vacuum once every week, and especially to remove dust from corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums as well as mop, is made to do exactly that. It's easy to connect to your Wi-Fi at home network and is compatible with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more convenient addition to your routine of cleaning.

The Q5 is a stripped down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, which includes the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It is equipped with a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but saves on cost by eliminating mopping functions and using a lower-cost plastic body.

Although it's no longer able to mop floors, the Q5 still offers the most impressive mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robot at this price. It has a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an automatic-empty system so you don't need to empty the bin by hand each time. It comes with a smart app which allows you to schedule cleanings and set the floor type. It also features an automatic vacuum cleaner and mop water tank filling system and washing system that is hands-free.

Its mops are also impressive with 2700Pa of power to take on dirt, dust and pet hair on carpets and hard floors. The Q5 is one of the few robots we test that didn't have problems with carpets with high piles or area rugs, but it couldn't pick up cat litter or cable tangles, which is no surprise considering it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also uses a unique mapping system that helps it reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums are unable to. The device also stores dust in a larger bin which means you have empty it less frequently. It also has washable filters, which further reduces costs. This robot can detect carpets, and boost suction when needed. You can also mark areas you want to be able to keep from using the app.
