Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one session and without the need to switch devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great automatic vacuum cleaner and mop cleaner too. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you want for each room.
For instance, you could choose to have the robot clean up the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that displays when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuums with mop vacuum and mop is the newest version. Unlike last year's model, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean around them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, best robot Cleaner and that can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design lets you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean curved furniture like table and chairs' legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile which makes it an ideal choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that allows the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market, but it packs in many extra features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature on its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are numerous functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list however it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is well designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
