1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. Its most significant breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's also the first to automatically send you photos of the object it comes across to let you know to avoid it in the future.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best option is probably one that is a hybrid. These machines are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums be a bit sloppy. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is superb too, with very little misses in corners and on walls.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design and features are some of the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.

Its base station looks good and is easily hidden when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots would leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Most other robovacs will require you to do this.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovac I've tried that does an excellent job of removing debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means that it could get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It can't climb stairs as well as competitors, for instance, and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to create an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for plush carpets.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price cost.

The Eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive and has many more features, like the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, which provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on floors that are unfinished carpets with low pile and even high-pile carpets.
